nuclear defense
(DOD, NATO) The methods, plans, and procedures involved in establishing and exercising defensive measures against the effects of an attack by nuclear weapons or radiological warfare agents. It encompasses both the training for, and the implementation of, these methods, plans, and procedures. See also nuclear, biological, and chemical defense; radiological defense.
